Pargi avamine Tallinnas Aserbaidžaani Vabariigi ja Eesti Vabariigi 100. aastapäeva puhul

On October 11, 2018, the official opening ceremony of the park symbolizing historical ties between the peoples and friendly relations between Surakhani district of Baku city and Kristiine district of Tallinn took place in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, on the occasion of 100th anniversary of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Estonia.   

The photo of the meeting between the National Leader of the Republic of Azerbaijan Haydar Aliyev and the President of the Republic of Estonia Lennart Meri in New York City, 1995, as well as information about the Republic of Azerbaijan, including Baku city in Azerbaijani, Estonian and English languages were displayed on the board at the entrance to the park. In addition, a stone floor with Azerbaijani national ornaments was laid around the fountain in the park praising the friendly relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Estonia, as well as the friendship of Surakhani and Kristiine districts.   

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Estonia H.E. Mr. Murad N. Najafbayli, Head of the Executive Power of the Surakhany district of Baku city Mr. Ilgar Abbasov, Head of the Azerbaijan-Estonia Inter-Parliamentary Working Group Mr. Haji Salayev, Chairman of the Azerbaijan-Estonia Cultural Center Mr. Niyazi Hajiyev, Chair of the Estonian Interparliamentary relations group with Azerbaijan Mr. Mihail Korb, Vice Mayor of the Tallinn Mr. Andrei Novikov, Head of the Kristiine district Mr. Jaanus Riibe, representatives of the Estonian public society and Azerbaijani diaspora in Estonia attended the opening ceremony.

Delivering the opening speech Ambassador Mr. Murad N. Najafbayli noted the political, economic, humanitarian and cultural relations between the two countries and emphasized the importance of the opening of the Azerbaijan-Estonia Park in Tallinn. It was brought to the attention of the participants that the foreign policy of Azerbaijan founded by the National Leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev and successfully continued by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attached great importance to the relations with Estonia.        

Noting the cooperation memorandum signed between Surakhany district and Kristiine district in 2008, head of the Executive Power of Surakhany district of Baku city Mr. Ilgar Abbasov talked about strong relations between the two districts and stressed that it was significant event to open the Azerbaijan-Estonia Park in Tallinn.

Having said about high level friendship relations between Parliaments of two countries the deputy of the Milli Mejlis Mr. Haji Salayev emphasized that the opening of the park on the occasion of 100th anniversary of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Estonia has demonstrated the progressive development of these relations.
