Event dedicated to the 102nd Anniversary of National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev was held in Tallinn
An event dedicated to the 102nd Anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Estonia.
At the event, the bright memory of the Great Leader was first honored with a minute of silence.
In his speech, Ambassador Anar Maharramov spoke about the honorable life path of National Leader, his unparalleled merits to the Motherland as the architect and founder of the modern Azerbaijani state, returning to political leadership in response to the persistent call of the people in 1993.
It was emphasized that it was precisely as a result of Heydar Aliyev's historical merits that political stability and security were established in Azerbaijan, and important achievements were made in the field of foreign policy. The new oil strategy, the founder of which was the Great Leader himself, played a decisive role in Azerbaijan's integration into the world economy. As an integral part of this strategy, the signing of the "Contract of the Century" in 1994 opened new horizons for the future successful development of Azerbaijan.
It was noted that Heydar Aliyev’s most cherished desire was liberation of the occupied territories and restoration of the territorial integrity of the country. It is notable that this year, which is declared the Year of Constitution and Sovereignty in the Republic of Azerbaijan, the event is also being held in all liberated sovereign territories of our country.
It was also noted that the domestic and foreign policy course outlined by Heydar Aliyev is successfully continued today by President Ilham Aliyev. As a result of this, the importance of Azerbaijan on a global scale has grown, the country has become a center for large-scale international events.
Speaking next, Estonian member of Parliament, Deputy Chairman of the Estonia-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group Maria Jufereva-Skuratovski expressed pride in participating in the event dedicated to the great leader and statesman Heydar Aliyev, emphasizing that the life and legacy of the Great Leader are an eternal example of devotion to the Motherland and the people. She also noted that Heydar Aliyev entered the history not only as a far-sighted leader, but also as the architect of Azerbaijan's sustainable development and prosperity. M. Jufereva-Skuratovski, who visited our country as part of the Estonia-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group just a few months ago, noted that she witnessed how the bright memory of Heydar Aliyev is honored with deep respect.
Then a film dedicated to the bright memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and a musical composition "Elegy" with the words of the Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva were shown. At the same time, the participants of the event viewed a photo and a book exhibition dedicated to the life and activities of the Great Leader.
The event was attended by heads and representatives of the diplomatic corps in Estonia, members of the Azerbaijani community, representatives of the local public and the media.
