Press release on consular consultations between Azerbaijan and Estonia
On May 8, 2025, consular consultations were held between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia in Tallinn.
The Azerbaijani delegation at the consultations was led by Emil Safarov, Head of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Estonian delegation was led by Tiina Nirk, Director General of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia.
Discussions were held on the topics presented in the consultations, the current state and prospects of relations between the two countries in the field of consular affairs, and opportunities for expanding cooperation were considered.
In addition, issues of providing effective consular assistance in connection with the protection of the rights and interests of citizens of both countries were touched upon, and views were exchanged on the applied visa regimes.
In order to ensure accessibility and flexibility in the provision of consular services in accordance with the challenges of the modern era, the importance of digitalization and the application of electronic services in this direction was emphasized, and the current experience of the countries in this field was exchanged.
A number of proposals were considered for the establishment of relations between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the two countries, and the development of cooperation in the fields of migration, science and education.
